Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest child and only daughter of Richard McCormick in 1956 was born at Woodland Hills (California) on 5 August. Her father taught school and her mother was at the house. Michael, Dennis and Kevin are her three older brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and often performed show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was six, which led to being contacted by talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency in which she was inquired if she wanted to work in showbusiness. McCormick got her first big break in 1964. McCormick was a part of the Mattel commercial for "Baby Pattaburp,"" which was Mattel's latest doll. Another commercial for Mattel was filmed in 1964 to promote their "Chatty-Cathy" doll. Shortly afterward, she was cast as the lead character of the show Wind It Up and It breaks in the Playhouse at The La Jolla Playhouse. McCormick was among of the more than 1200 kids who had auditioned was chosen to play the eldest daughter of the three sisters with two heads in The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a newlywed family. It lasted five years. McCormick revealed in Here's the tale of her life: Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published 2008) that it was her fifth season of the show when she almost lost the virginity she had fought for. He was 19 years old. He was 16. The possibility was there according to her. "But the time for us wasn't just right."
